Ferrero Rocher Launch 5 Dessert 'Dolce' Pop-up Dining Experience in London
Article by Harv Sahota
Calling all nutty chocoholics, if you’re looking for the ultimate chocolate tasting experience head over to the Dolce by Ferrero Rocher pop up located in Covent Garden, which is beautifully lit up with Christmas lights giving you that instant nostalgic feeling.
The 5 dessert dining experience created by Paul Hannagen; owner and head chef of Restaurant 'Cuisson', got his inspiration for the pop up from his love of Ferrero Rocher. Even the décor compliments the chocolate tasting experience from chocolate coloured walls to the gold themes throughout the café. I would describe the experience as an adult’s equivalent to the childhood classic of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Dolce by Ferrero Rocher opened its doors yesterday and I was one of the lucky first to experience the 5 desserts available inspired by the layers of the chocolate. From the fluffy gold cloud sprinkled in glitter emanated from the gold wrapper, a solid chocolate dome with finely chopped hazelnuts with hot melted chocolate poured over it at the table, a wafer covered ganache, creamy ganache filled chocolate cupcake encased in a solid chocolate shell, and finally a roasted hazelnut in a praline moose. Each plate is beautifully presented smothered with a ring of chocolate sauce and the classic we are all too familiar with as the centre piece.
My personal favourite was the ganache wafer which was smooth and silky and reminded me of a fancy cornflake cake, I just wish there was more of it. If like me, you believe chocolates should only be eaten with a glass of something sparkling, you are in luck as Prosecco is also served to compliment the chocolate tasting - providing you with a perfect combination.
I would highly recommend booking in advance for your taste experience; tickets are £10 and selling out fast. By paying an additional £5 you can also enjoy a glass of Prosecco to compliment the divine desserts. Walk ins are also welcome but please be prepared to queue, though if you visit on a Thursday evening you can enjoy some live music from a soul choir in the Courtyard.
Dolce by Ferrero Rocher pop up is located in St Martins Courtyard, 21 Slingsby Place, a 2 min walk from Covent Garden tube station. The pop-up is open from 1-11 December (closed Monday) from 1-11pm serving until 10pm for dining sessions and 10.30pm for walk-in visitors. It costs £10 for walk-ins and pre-booked sessions which include a glass of prosecco are £15. For bookings, visit: www.dolcebyferrerorocher.co.uk
