To The Moon And Back, Jumeira, Dubai
If you’re looking for a dreamy spot to work on your laptop, have a meeting, or take some time to relax, ‘To The Moon And Back’ is your ticket.
I found this spot on Instagram, whilst searching for #dubaicoffee and the gorgeous interior caught my eye. Hanging astronauts, gold and black colour schemes with cacti and crawling ivy leaves throughout definitely screams Melbourne inspired cafe.
Located in Jumeira, round the corner from Safa Park and opposite the beach, To The Moon And Back is hidden within a development called ‘La Plage’. It offers indoor and outdoor seating; both welcoming options but the former taking priority in the Dubai Summer heat.
The menu features coffee, selected sweets like pastries, cookies and brownies and limited food options. The focus is on the caffeine here; and it’s perfect for working because it’s strong and smooth and I was tempted by the Cortado but opted for a Latte.
It’s tough to find the cafe nestled in La Plage, and a sign at the entrance where you park your car would help. However, the Marketing team have been smart to direct customers’ via their Instagram page and it’s clearly located on Google Maps for GPS. I therefore found the place with no issues.
It’s a fantastic little place, really. The atmosphere is quirky, relaxed and the staff are friendly welcoming a large number of Arabic customers who clearly appreciate the excellent location at Jumeira 1 and cosy vibes.
At the moment, it doesn’t have a large Breakfast or Lunch offering but it’s perfect for working with high-speed wi-fi or a catchup with a friend. The prices are a bit steep, but for the experience, it’s worth it.
One thing to note, is that I had a lovely chat with one of the baristas who explained that they’d just started their Breakfast Menu and more food items are in the works.
I hope they include more Melbourne style dishes like the Avo and Feta on toast - that would definitely have me going back on a Saturday morning. Until then, the coffee and catchups will do me fine!
